Jeannie & her first dance teacher & mentor: Joe Michaels

 

Father of Mia Michaels / TV's "So You Think You Can Dance" & owner of Joe Michaels School of Dance

 

Jeannie was born in Orlando, Florida. With some terrific coaches and a supportive family, she began acting and dancing in the entertainment industry both in the United States and abroad by the age of four.

Influenced by her father, a gifted engineer with the 299th combat engineers during WWll (website) and her mother, a very talented artist and author, Jeannie has been able to bring a balance of creative and technical understanding to her teaching, performing and other creative persuits.

Her diverse career has included television shows, music videos, national commercials, stage, and much more. Audiences comment that "Her graceful elegance combined with a fluid intensity makes her dancing such a pleasure to watch. (video) "With years of experience and an impressive list of dance specialties and awards she now travels as a coach, judge and competitor spreading her joy for teaching and love for dance wherever she goes.

As a master dance and movement coach, she stays busy teaching privates, and holding dance and movement workshops. She was honored to be inducted into the World Swing Dance Hall of Fame (video) in 2013 at the US Open Swing Dance Championships.
